Cellulose Insulation
Properties and Benefits
Cellulose insulation has been used as an insulating material for over 70 years. Originally popularized in North America, it later spread and gained popularity in many European countries. In Finland, cellulose insulation is the most widely used loose-fill insulation.
Heat Retention
Cellulose insulation provides excellent thermal insulation. Its insulating capabilities are measured by its thermal conductivity coefficient (lambda – λ). This coefficient indicates the amount of heat that passes through a 1m² area of a 1m thick homogeneous material over one hour, given a temperature difference of 1°C on either side. Thus, the lower the thermal conductivity, the better the insulation material. The thermal conductivity coefficient (λ) of Werrowool cellulose insulation is 0.039 W/mK. This result was verified by an independent laboratory at Tallinn University of Technology, and you can view the test report here.
